event calendar - user make an appointment (maybe with userforms>)

Hi, I have a client that would like the following ability:
their clients able to book a slot on their any date via a calendar.
I am aware of the ability for "event signups" as in this post - http://silverstripe.org/all-other-modules/show/270409#post270409
but i would like to know if there was a way of individual users (registered users, not admins) to add an event / book an appt (potentially incorporating userforms)?thanks

I have a client with a similar requirement.
Did you find anything to solve you're problem?
I'm looking at adapting:
