Re: SecureFiles 0.21 Released - Testers + Translations please!

1 May 2010 at 7:57am
I've successfully added this module and it seems to be working properly. However, it removes the ability of my content managers to delete images from the UncleCheese image gallery. The delete icon doesn't show on rollovers. Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,

Hey Andrew, what versions of Secure Files and Image Gallery are you using? I know that Secure Files 0.30 plays nicely with Data Object Manager. I thought both modules used the same back-end but I could be wrong. Let me know and I'll test and fix if required.
"Dutch translation file.."
Thanks Martijn! Committed to trunk now.

Andrew, I just tried installing Image Gallery and I see your issue - if you don't have admin permissions you can't seem to delete album items. However, I don't think this is related to Secure Files. I get the same behaviour whether I have Secure Files installed or not, so you might need to hit up Uncle Cheese for a fix.

Hamish, thanks for looking into that! I just took a look on a different site that doesn't have SecureFiles installed and sure enough you are right on. Thanks.

Hi Hamish, firstly nice job on an excellent module. I have been trying to use secure files to present both secure and insecure (public) files in the same folder. from my testing I have noticed that the "secureness" is just based on the folder setting. is this the only functionality or have i missed something that allows the fine grained functionality I am after?
eg.
--secureFolder-
----insecureFile (publicly available)
----secureFile (available to authentcated members only)if this functionality is not available do you have any suggestions for how i should go about adding it? i dont know enough about .htaccess to even know what i would have to modify to enable this functionality (or if it is even possible).
Any input greatly appreciated.
Dan

Hi Hamish, don't know whether you are in a habit of checking the forum for SecureFile related posts, but I've found some potential bugs in SecureFiles 3.0 and described them at this thread.

Hey, yes I try to keep an eye out - and Google Alerts helps - although I don't catch them all.
