I don't know if it's a good patch (i'm a little dev :)) but i wanted newsletter 0.4-RC1 works with SS 2.3.6. So i modified some lines in Newsletters module code. My diff is attached here.

Oh and FYI its 0.4 not 4.0. I don't think any of our modules have reached 2.0 yet alone 4.0 yet :D

Is this module no longer being developed?
Seeing as there are also a lot of old tickets still open.
Hope to see some progress here, it's a great module apart from the occasional bug.
