newsletter and salutation

In English its simple, you just say 'Dear FirstName Surname' in German you have to differ between male ('Sehr geehrter Herr FirstName Surname') and female ('Sehr geehrte Frau FirstName Surname').
But the newsletter-module (http://www.silverstripe.org/newsletter-module/) offers no opportunity to store this information in the database. Nor the member-form, neither the csv-upload.
Has anyone any idea how to manage thist problem?
