event_calendar problems

Hello everyone!
I have some problems with the event calendar. as i am not thaaat good with programming myself i just got not far with fixing it.
now here is the problem:
installation was no problem, worked fine with this one: http://bluehousegroup.svn.beanstalkapp.com/modules/branches/2.3/event_calendar/
after installation i made a new calendar site, which works fine as well. can do anything in the cms, so i guess i installed it properly.but on my site the calendar site i simply get not this calendar-field displayed. if you don't know what i mean (can't express it better with my poor english) i attached two files to show what i mean...
any help, suggestions or link to existing solutions would be nice =)

now that i had some more time to play around with it, i think it has to be a problem with the datepicker... i found several solutions for problems with it, but so far none of them worked with me.
i tried to use the dataobject rev397 with event_calendar r110, but that didn't work too...
thought about trying another version of silverstripe, now i'm using 2.3.4...i'm out of ideas, so i need some help =)
