Image Gallery extending Page Type

Has anyone had any problems where you can get the Image Gallery Album to take on the page type theme, but the holder page that shows your albums wont change over, it still uses "Page"?
I am not sure where else to make a change besides ImageGalleryPage.php.
I have changed both:
class ImageGalleryPage extends RightNav
and
class ImageGalleryPage_Controller extends RightNav_Controller
I never had this issue in other sites.
