Hi, I am very new to SS, I have created a basic site using it to test some of the features.

I have installed the mobile module, looks ok, I can see the mobile tab in the CMS. I set this up with a m. prefix for my site to use the blackcandymobile theme.

All seems fine but it does not actually work, I have added the m. domain on my server - I really don't know what other steps I need to carry out.

The documentation says "Please keep in mind that the mobile domain must point to your site before it will work." - so a redirection of m.mysite.com to mysite.com? I tried this and it did not work.

Any help welcome.

You don't actually need to use the m.mysite.com redirect. It works fine with no redirection and I have also done some work on getting the full site and mobile site links working better - I will resubmit that back to the community once I am happy with it. My version also includes a newer jquerymobile version

As a testing hint on chrome hit F12 and then use the gear icon at the bottom right to bring up some tweaks including "override user agent". Just choose the one you want.

Cool, that works!

Thanks for the response, I'm starting to get into SilverStripe now!

I must be missing something, as I'm experiencing the same problems as weisdaclick. I've setup the mobile version and it works great when the main SS theme is set to blackcandymobile. but if I set it to just blackcandy and set the Mobile tab to the blackcandymobile theme, then mobile devices just load the standard blackcandy theme and not the mobile version. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

@Valorinbattle: If I understand the question, there's a thread about this somewhere.

You're supposed to set the default theme in your _config.php file (in the mysite directory) and then, when you pick a theme from within the CMS, you select "use default theme" rather than whatever your theme is called.

Thanks. I've got most of working now, but I now have a more interesting problem. All works as planned, but if someone selects "Full Site" in the footer, it takes them to the full site as it should. But then on that same device, if you try to go back to the website, it no longer sends them to the mobile version - it always loads the full site version. It's like it caches the full version and never loads the mobile version anymore.

Any thoughts?
