Anyone build a community site with silverstripe and/or sapphire?

18 December 2008 at 10:01pm
Hi all,
I've been thinking about building a community site and my initial thoughts were to use zend framework and i've been reading up on that a lot.
But since I've come across silverstripe i've started to wonder if a community site could be built using silverstripe or by using the sapphire framework.Anyone out there done anything like that? Is there actual documentation out there on the framework itself?
Thanks!

Hi,
i'm currently working on a migration from phpBB2 to silverstripe. I'm making good progress, here's a list of problems i've come across:
- registration doesn't support email-verification (before initially activating an account) which might result into spam-problems.
- the private messaging module is just what it says, a "prove of concept" alpha version.
- the forum-module doesn't know how to do votes in a thread.
- you have to do some hacking to get your own set of attributes into the member-profile.i'm currently solving most of these issues but i'm not sure how much of my modifications will be re-useable in the official code since at the moment i'm only focusing on getting the website out in the wild, but i might clean up and submit stuff later on.
if you're interested in helping with any of the issues mentioned above just let me know, you can find me on irc, too.
