Lightbox effect not working in Flickr module

I've installed the flickr module successfully and can see the thumbnails in the gallery - when I click the thumbnails the lightbox effect doesn't work and I get a new page opening showing the photo. I've tried using different browsers and it still fails to use the lightbox effect - any ideas what i've done wrong?

It never did work properly, with 2.2.3 it's buggy and it doesn't work at all with 2.3
