I have been following the progress of the workflow module on Trac and really like the look of it. It will provide important functionality for websites that have a number of content authors and a central web editor/manager.

Is it likely to be released along with 2.3 stable?

You're referring to the "cmsworkflow" module, right? http://open.silverstripe.com/browser/modules/cmsworkflow/trunk

The idea was to have something compatible with 2.3, yes - a 0.1 release of the workflow is fairly close, although we're currently lacking the resources for it. Would you be willing to help testing the workflow trunk with the latest branches/2.3 code to speed this process up a bit?

Hi Ingo,

I'm have been playing around with 2.2.3 so I need to upgrade to rc2.3. Once I do this i'll be glad to help out by testing the module.

Haven't tested this yet, but it shouldn't be a big deal. We'd have to ensure that all links into detail pages (e.g. in notification emails) bear a ?lang GET parameter. Permissions and workflow assignees would be different for every language by default, which kinda makes sense. The default workflow group assignments etc. would not be copied from the main language when creating a new translation though.

These are some gotchas and border cases I can think of, glad to hear others when you're trying out workflow+translatable.

By the way, all comments above relate to the upcoming Translatable overhaul, which we hope to get into a release early after 2.3.0. The code is all in trunk, workflow should be runnable on trunk as well.

I couldn' t make it work on the latest stable version of SilverStripe. I'm getting an error about: i18n.
Does any body have a success on working with the publish authorizations on cms with min 2 languages enabled?

I quickly tried it out with 2.3 rc2 and encountered a few "server error" msg's. I won’t go into detail as I did not have time to test it properly. I should have a chance to test more thoroughly on 2.3 rc4 in the next week or two.

It’ll be a real feather in Silverstripe’s cap if the CMS can offer enterprise functionality like this.
