Hi there
I don't usually ask for help, but I've been trying to get this working all day... it's just turned midnight. In short, I'm struggling to get the mollom module working so that it protects comments & userforms from spam.

Next to mysite, I have the module files in folders...
mollom
spamprotection
userforms

Within the CMS, I created & published a User Defined form with..
text field
spam protector field

Within mysite/_config.php, I've set the mollom public & private keys...
as per http://svn.silverstripe.com/open/modules/mollom/trunk/INSTALL

Within the same file, I've also set the 'MollomField'...
as per http://svn.silverstripe.com/open/modules/spamprotection/trunk/INSTALL

When I goto a page with the comments behaviour enabled...
?stage=Live shows me a blank page

When I goto a userforms page...
?stage=Live shows me a page
but when logged out of the CMS, I get a blank page

When logged-in to the CMS, if I click Reports, the Mollomreport is blank.

I've tried different versions of SS, mollom & spamprotection, but without avail.
Can anyone help or suggest ways to troubleshoot the problem?

Just wanted to report back our findings.

We had some pretty simple requirements :
1. CMS
2. easily customisable contact us form
3. blog
4. bit of security to stop spam on comments & the contact us form.

Silverstripe looked promising, so we started off with the stable modules. I tried stable SilverStripe 2.3.1, but the stable userforms, blog & mollom modules didn't meet requirements (a spam protect field couldn't be easily added via the user form creation option). Silverstripe 2.3.2+ was needed for this.

The spam protection requirement really was a problem with the contact us form, so I concentrated on this. After a very intense 13 hours of SilverStripe/ learning curve & no direct help from the forum I found the following sat happily together :

A dev/build on widgetslogin & blog 0.2.0 quickly broke that & after different trunks, then changing to userforms trunk 76733 everything seemed to be sitting happily again. Others were brought in to help, then we spotted the 'blank page instead of blog' problem that forum users have occassionally asked about for around a year.

We accidentally noticed the silverstipe.com blog itself also seemed to be suffering the same 'blank page' problem (still there as at 20:00 GMT)... welcome to my hell :)

So we figured...

a. What chance have we got of getting this going if silverstripe themselves seem to be struggling?
b. Will we have to carefully balance all the other modules again once the blog module's fixed?
c. Are we going to have to carefully balance things again in the future when we upgrade/ install other modules?

After a brief discussion this afternoon, we've opted to move on from Silverstripe. I'm gutted we won't get to use the theme the others put together, but such is life. He he he. Hope you guys manage to get things to settle down/ stabilise & get the documentation up to date (maybe even provide a userguide for setting-up a basic CMS with spam protection) soon. All the best!
