Re: UserForms 0.2

15 October 2009 at 4:00am
Hi,
I am a new Silver Stripe user and if someone can explain to me step by step how to install this mod I would appreciate it greatly. In the readme file it's referring to http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=userdefinedform as documentation resource, but I can't find anything there. Please help. Thank you.

http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=modules:userforms is the documentation resource for that module. It also includes installation instructions.

"Run in your browser - http://www.yoursite.com/dev/build to rebuild the database. "
The folders I see in my userforms 0.2.0 directory are : code, css, images, javascript, lang, templates, tests and files _config.php, ChangeLog, LICENSE, README. Please tell me where the "dev" directory is so the rebuild can be done.
Please help because I'm starting to pull my hair, and trust me this isn't the first script I install on a webserver.

As it says "browser" aka A Web Browser such as Firefox or Internet Explorer. Its not a folder. Open up your webbrowser and go to http://www.yoursite.com/dev/build to rebuild that database. Tutorial 1 covers what this does and why you need to run dev/build when you create / install any modules.

Ok. I downloaded the module from the URL above given, and installed as instructed with the steps described in the URL you gave me above. One BIG problem at the end : "You should see a new PageType in the CMS ‘User Defined Form’. This has a new ‘Form’ tab which has your form builder." . There is absolutely nothing like it in my back-end. I am using SilverStripe version 2.3.3 and this is the URL I've downloaded the module from : http://open.silverstripe.com/changeset/latest/modules/userforms/trunk?old_path=/&filename=/modules/userforms/trunk&format=zip . What problem do you think I have here ?
