EventCalendar - Calendar on main SideBar

Is it possible to place the calendar of the event calendar module in the main sidebar of the site and replace the calendar sidebar with the main one?

Of course you can do this. The templates that come with the module are just examples. You should create your own instances in your theme directory, e.g. /themes/your_theme/templates/Layout/Calendar.ss, or /mysite/templates/Layout/Calendar.ss, if you're not using one.
