I tried teh fixes specified in this thread....I can get teh Gallery page to show up now, but when I click on a gallery image nothing happens....any ideas??

We are currently revisiting the gallery module. Sadly the current developer has since left and nobody has picked up on it but Josh is currently working on getting a stable version released.

Also, this piecemeal way of fixing the code is not the right approach at all. The code needs to be fixed and a new GalleryPage.php file provided. I think there is too much confusion in this thread. I tried to follow the fixes and ended up with a worse problem than when I started. I reverted to the original page and am waiting for a proper fix. Thanks!

Greetings. I am new to SilverStripe CMS and this forum. I am excited about this project! I just found out about it. I can see that it is powerful stuff and I am eager to be a part of what is happening here.

I did successfully install a test site. I am presently working on localhost, using a Windows XP machine and WAMP server. I have enabled mod rewrite.

I tried to install the gallery module. I was able to install it, however, I am getting the same errors that others have mentioned here. Rather disappointing to see that.

The errors are identical, with line 381, 330 and 332, as lekoala pasted. I did try the solution that willr offered, however that did not appear to fix the problem.

I did go to the Ticket #2602 and it does not appear to be fixed yet. I would appreciate some help. I want to move forward on using SilverStripe CMS. Thanks.

Thanks willr - I ended up find a fix from "saimo" in the forum.

Now I'm having issues with lightbox working... the thumbanils open up to a new page, rather than using the "lightwindow" effect - would you have any ideas on what might be causing this ?

It probably needs a isset() wrapped around $group before you evaluate it. So you would change that to

if(isset($group) && ! $item->PopupEmbed && $group->Type != 'Documents' && $group->Type != 'WebPages' )
$item->JSMedia = $this->Title . '[Media]';

Tho this will change the functionality as looking how it works group might not always be set. But try it and see what happens

Line 330 of GalleryPage.php is:

if( ! $item->PopupEmbed && $group->Type != 'Documents' && $group->Type != 'WebPages' )
$item->JSMedia = $this->Title . '[Media]';

Any ideas ?

sorry I completely misread the code and posted it without actually thinking. This is the current code

if( ! is_numeric( $_REQUEST['start'] ) ) $_REQUEST['start'] = 0;
$limit = $_REQUEST['start'] . "," . $this->MediaPerPage;

So basically what its doing at the moment is that if start is defined as a int use it else it is 0. So ignore that last piece of code. What we want to do is 1st check start exists, then if start exists check if its a numeric number. Probably a cleaner way to do this but however

if(isset($_REQUEST['start'])) {
$_REQUEST['start'] = (is_numeric($_REQUEST['start'])) ? $_REQUEST['start'] : 0;
}
$limit = $_REQUEST['start'] . "," . $this->MediaPerPage;

try that!

Ok I looked the code up and so lets change that whole if else bit ..

if(isset($_REQUEST['start']) && !is_numeric( $_REQUEST['start'] )) {
$start = ($this->MediaPerPage) ? $this->MediaPerPage : 0;
}
else {
$start = $_REQUEST['start'] + $this->MediaPerPage;
}

Thats how that lines 365 -> currently 368 should work - added the isset round the $_REQUEST then also if MediaPerPage isnt defined (which Im guessing its not in your case) we want it to not throw that giant error so we can give it a value to use.

This should work

try changing that to

if(isset($_REQUEST['start']) && !is_numeric( $_REQUEST['start'] ))

Basically check it exists before you check its not a number

I have loaded the Gallery module and loading the page generates the following error with Firefox. With IE the error message flicks up and then the page displays with no photos showing. SS ver 2.2.2

These are just notices, pretty straight forward to fix actually for example the notice line 332 - your first one - open up Gallery/code/GalleryPage.php and change line 332 from

$item->PopupParams = $params;

to something like

$item->PopupParams = isset($params) ? $params : "";

So that it checks it exists before using it (with the isset() command).
So is this getting fixed in the next version

I have been trying to install the gallery module v 0.2.2 with silverstripe v2.2.2 and im also getting the same errors.

which basically prevent the gallery from displaying correctly. The weird thing is that I've installed silverstripe on a fairly similar computer with the same software (only big difference is that it's windows server 2003 instead of windows vista) and everything is running just fine : no errors, ...

Any idea?
