Okay, I've browsed around the docs for a bit, and cansee there's classes for creating a search form and results page (http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=searchform), but actually implementing one is proving too tricky for this simple programmer to figure out.
Anyone got a simple recipe for plugging a search engine form into a SS site?

and now that I actually refresh the page, I see someonlinedude posted the exact same question but hours ago, so perhaps head over there to see an answer (if there is one forthcoming)...
