Adding SS pages Live

I have a really, really dumb question? *sorry* How do you add the pages that are created by SS to my site directory? IE, right now it is http://www.mywebsite.com/SS/about-us/
How do I make that mywebsite.com/about-us ??
And if the homepage is usually mywebsite.com/default.htm ..how do I make http://www.mywebsite.com/SS/home into the default page?
