"Redirecting to..." Message

For some reason my site is now displaying a message, "Redirecting to...", when being redirected to a new page. Is there a way that I might be able to turn this message off?
Also does anyone know of any good information on how to speed up silverstripe on MediaTemple? I have followed the instructions on changing the chache folder's path, and that successfully works, but did not speed up anything.

I had similar issue with 'Redirecting to...'.
In my case the problem was encoding of file which I referenced in _config.php with DataObject::add_extension.
The problem occured on linux production server, on dev windows everything was ok.When I changed encoding back from utf8 to ansii everything was fine again.

I fixed this by deleting the empty lines after ?> at the end of _config.php
