Hello,

I have no idea as to why noone has responded to my previous queries regarding this topic.

I have again reinstalled v2.0 of SilverStripe and both the presentation of the 'Default Site' and the 'Log in' areas are broken. It appears that no styles have been applied to these pages and I cannot login to the admin area.

When I installed, I briefly saw a message regarding not being able to find templates but this was too quick to note the exact text before the success message was displayed.

In addition, the demo site download from the tutorial seems to be a corrupted extract.

Can anyone offer assistance?

Cheers,

Gary

Hi Gary
It would help if you let us know which forum thread you previously posted your query.

Can you please let us know the details of your server, php version, mySQL version and some more details about why you think the default website is broken. When you install you only see a very very bare site with no content. Is that what you are seeing?

Regards
Ken

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry - I posted my previous entry under 'General Discussion'.

You are correct. On both the Home page and the Admin area, I see the bulleted menu of three items, the page title (ie. Home or Log in) in a heading font and the reference to the SilverStripe - nothing else and no formatting. On the Log in page, I do not even see the fields to enter the login details.

I am running PHP v5.1.6, MySQL v 4.1.10. I am running on a shared Linux box running Apache (standard CPANEL installation with some tweaks). The Beta version of SilverStripe worked just fine.

Cheers,

Gary

Hi gakenny, I'll see if anyone at the core team can think why this is :)

It might be that you don't have all of the files, or that some of the beta files are still around and conflicting with it...

Thanks Sigurd!

I did completely uninstall the script and all files/db to reinstall. Just in case this is suggested.

Cheers,

Gaz

Hi Gary

I found that the beta version gave you a partially functioning website, with some content. When I installed the non-beta version, I found it basically bare of any content. I am wondering if this is what you are experiencing.

hey gary,

do you see something similiar to http://demo.silverstripe.com/home/successfullyinstalled when accessing this path on your localhost?

take a look at "mysite/templates/Page.ss", do you have any HTML-code in there? when you access your silverstripe-installation in a browser, it should read "Welcome to SilverStripe! This is the default homepage" using the same template as demo.silverstripe.com.

do you have any error-logs that could help us here?

regards
ingo

Hi,

If only it did look like this... I have none of the colour, images, tabs.

My site is here:
http://silverstripe.eirenz.com

Aha! An error in the error log:
PHP Warning: None of these templates can be found: ErrorPage.ss, Page.ss, ContentController.ss in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/silverstripe/sapphire/core/SSViewer.php on line 53

Cheers,

Gary
