Ad. google maps

1 December 2007 at 2:24pm
Hey,
I'm getting into SilverStripe and so far it's great.
I have some questions regarding maps module. Is it possible to have it independent from forum? i'd like to have it on site with some predefined points.
Is it possible to develop this on localhost? I'm reffering here to google apis code. Thanks,

Yeah that's perfectly possible. I did it with http://www.photoplaces.be.
The maps you see are homebrewn, but when you register you can add locations and for that I used the maps module.

Hello Dio
Very nice work at photoplaces!
Your maps implementation is stunning.
Would it possible to get your customized framework for this part?Thank you

Well, the maps used for displaying only (the ones that you see whn you're not logged into photoplaces) have nothing to do with SS.
It's just javascript - microformats and google API.
