iframe and PDFs

Rather than have standard content displayed for a node, I need to display a PDF in an iframe which replaces the standard content. Thus, I need to allow the administrative user to upload a PDF to the CMS and then if a PDF exists for this content, then display an iframe instead of standard content.
Could someone please provide some instructions as to how to accomplish this properly and cleanly?
