heres some logs... curious if anyone else is getting the same thing...

Working run:

[22/May/2008:12:41:33 +1200] "POST /sstest1/ss5/admin/assets/index/1?executeForm=UploadForm HTTP/1.1" 200 395 "http://domain.net.nz/sstest1/ss5/admin/assets/uploadiframe/1" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071204 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.11"
[22/May/2008:12:41:34 +1200] "POST /sstest1/ss5/admin/assets/getitem?ID=1&ajax=1 HTTP/1.1" 200 7393 "http://domain.net.nz/sstest1/ss5/admin/assets/" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071204 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.11"
[22/May/2008:12:41:34 +1200] "GET /sstest1/ss5/admin/assets/uploadiframe/1 HTTP/1.1" 200 2375 "http://domain.net.nz/sstest1/ss5/admin/assets/" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071204 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.11"
[22/May/2008:12:41:35 +1200] "GET /sstest1/ss5/admin/assets/uploadiframe/1 HTTP/1.1" 200 2375 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071204 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.11"
.
And when it doesn't work:

[22/May/2008:12:39:57 +1200] "POST /sstest1/ss5/admin/assets/index/root?executeForm=UploadForm&SecurityID=1714836769&PHPSESSID=65596e1283ad2cd120771fbb2bb66ed8 HTTP/1.1" 302 - "-" "Shockwave Flash"
[22/May/2008:12:39:57 +1200] "GET /sstest1/ss5/Security/login HTTP/1.1" 200 6219 "-" "Shockwave Flash"
.
Is it just me, or is it requiring shockwave to log in?

Just got the message that swfupload is going to be disabled in the silverstripe 2.2.2 release, until the problem gets fixed.

Correct. Have just installed the final release of 2.2.2 (available from main downloads page) and file uploads work well.

Yup. I installed the latest version and upload works in Firefox (which previously wasn't)

Hats off to those who work hard on this (to keep me - us moaners) happy! :-D Thank you very much.

Oh... the still sort of broken when trying to upload an image while during composing/editing a page. Which isn't a big deal at the moment, as one can get around by ensuring the image is uploaded using Files and Images tab first.

I recently ran into this problem again - an old site on 2.2.1 had the browse button in files & images not working.

Reading all this, I replaced the swfupload folder - now browse button in files & images works - only in tinymce sidebar I get redirected to the frondend when clicking on upload - as mentioned here before.

But it seems to me that swfupload is just not working at all. - It's just the default 'browse button' because when I actually completely wipe out cms/javascript/Upload.js, it's still working!

So, in opposition to what people here think - that it's fixed - it looks like SWFUpload isn't actually doing anything at all when you replace it!

Any thoughts?
