Meta-Tag Language

I've been working with ss since 3 days now (noobie). My problem is, that I publish the content in German language but the $MetaTags allways shows the content-language "en". I allready changed the admin menu as well as the profile into "German" but there are no changes on the language meta tag.
Could anyone help me out here? -

It uses Translatable::current_lang() to get it, so I figure there must be a way to set it.
Have a look at
