Hey all,

my situation is that the place I have my webhotel, hosts the sites on IIS machines. Ergo, no mod_rewrite.

Is it even possible to run SilverStripe on a non mod_rewrite server ? If so, how ?

If no, is this something the SS team would consider at all ?

I'm not sure how, but it should work.

I had a situation where I was running a site on lighty, which doesn't have mod_rewrite either.

You just have to make sure you put the same stuff that the normal urlrewriting does in the conf. file of your installation in the correct language.

You'll have to find out how IIS does urlrewriting and apply that.

I'm sorry I'm a bit of a server noob, so can't explain it really well.

Well, do any of the devs have any input on this ? And are you guys able to implement this into SilverStripe, so that mod_rewrite doesn't give the impression that you simply can't live without, and possibly account for this in the installer, so it isn't such a showstopper ?
