Reorganize is not a word. Re-organize is a word. Organize works.

This sounds like sound bites from the Black Hawn Down.

Limo is not a word....

Can you think a way to turn the tide unless you want to patent "reorganize" ?

I agree with this

Some other terminology I think we should change is;

"Save Draft" -> "Save"
"Publish" > "Save & Publish"

If you think of how users behave with most other applications, when they "save", generally it's implicit that they are saving a draft version, so I don't think we need to state it's a draft.

With publishing, it's like printing a word document - you expect everything thats on the screen, right now to be printed/published. This here would be a slight change in functionality I believe as currently only the last draft is published - which may be different to what you have on screen if you have made changes since your last draft.

Along this line of thinking, the tabs in the footer which let you preview changes can be renamed also.

"CMS" -> "Edit"
"Draft site" -> "Preview"
"Published site" -> "Live site"

Edit & Preview could be grouped to show they are together, while published site would be more separate.

Thoughts?

Regarding Usability Issue: "#24 Consistently use Draft site instead of Stage site": http://www.elijahlofgren.com/silverstripe/consistently-use-draft-site-instead-of-stage-site/

Should the "stage site" reference be changed to "preview site"?

In order to eliminate references to "draft" site, should the "Cancel draft changes" button simply be "Cancel changes"? However, is "Cancel changes" too ambiguous?

I don't understand the change from draft to preview? Preview is a less accurate representation of what's going on - when you click "save changes", you don't expect it to update preview site!

Let's change all instances of "stage" to "draft" in the user interface (we **DON'T** want to go changing internal names) and leave it at that.

I do agree, however, that CMS should be edit, and that Edit & Draft should be grouped together.

These sound like really good ideas. I'll put it on my to do list to implement these. :)

On the left menu, "Reorder..." is now used (in gsoc svn branch). :)

> "Save Draft" -> "Save"
> "Publish" > "Save & Publish"

As noted in another topic, this has been done in the gsoc svn. :)

Here's what it looks like now:

Let me know if I should make any changes,

just my five cents worth:

Most people either change a website or they dont. They may want to have a preview, but having a draft site is confusing my opinion. Was it on the draft site or the live site? When are we going to make the draft site life? Ooops, it accidentally went on the real site, etc.... I think preview is like print-preview. Check it, make sure you are happy with it and go.....
