I was having trouble uploading images with Firefox, so I followed a tip from this thread: [url=http://www.silverstripe.com/site-builders-forum/flat/16550]http://www.silverstripe.com/site-builders-forum/flat/16550, and updated the jsparty/SWFUpload files to the most recent release, v2.0.2. This enabled me to upload images and files in the "Files & Images" section.
However, in the Site Content section, when I click the Image Icon, and click the upload link, I was previously able to at least select the image I was hoping to upload, even though it wouldn't actually upload. Now, the 'upload' link redirects me to http://loaclhost:3000/#.
I don't think the problem lies in the updated .swf file, because the problem didn't show up until I updated the .js file. I've reverted back to the original files and that hasn't fixed the problem.
I'm comfortable simply using the Files & Uploads section to upload images, but it would be nice to use the Site Content section upload these images.
Thanks for any ideas!

Nothing special about solving this, I simply installed "WampServer2" instead of using the Windows installer or WAMP5 (both were having these problems), which was giving my system all kinds of trouble.
