It's because the WYSIWYG editor probably messed up the structure of the HTML document. the xml tag is present on the default blackcandy theme (using an XHTML doctype), so whenever the document has a problem with an element messed up in the structure it returns an error saying there's a problem.
Could you please scroll over and show where the ------- (dashes) point to for the error?
Cheers,
Sean
