installation issues - file permissions

Hi all

I'm having issues w file permissions. I was installing SS, making progress on setting file and directory permissions as the errors displayed on the default installation page were instructing, but then suddenly when i went to test and see how i was doing, the page failed to load on refresh, giving me a 403-forbidden error :-/ i didn't make a copy of permissions prior to that, so i don't know what they were by default. Can anyone tell me what i need to change these to in order to get it working again?

can someone with a working install of SS post a list of their file permissions so i can just copy them? that would be really helpful. THANKS!

oh look - i'm posting on my own thread again - LOL. i've figured this out, turns out i'd changed the permissions on the dir SS is installed in so that it couldn't open. wrrrrong! oh, learning via mistakes. takes a long time, but sure is effective. ;-)
