Hey guys, the other day I copied a whole bunch of rar files for some people to download into my assets folders, and it seemed to crash my site.

Does silverstripe read everything in there into memory, or is it just a coincidence that the site started to run like a dog the moment I uploaded these files?

I have since moved them outside of assets and things still arent running properly, anything i can do to fix this?

Cheers in advance.

AFAIK it should only read in the contents of assets when you access the CMS, specifically entering the "Files & Images" section, or inline adding of images/pdf etc, into TinyMCE.
