Newsletter Attachments

I'm trying to build a mail-out to the members for a SS site, but I don't see how it allows attachemtns.
The actual newsletter is afancy PDF file, so the mailout newsletter is really a covering letter.
Problem is, I can only see how to attach pictures and (gasp) ... flash.
How do you do a plain old attachment?
