Hello,

I don't wan't to use Joomla :-) And like the Conzept from silverstripe. Do you have a Solution to install silverstripe on IIS.
I think the only problem I have is the "rewrite" - I can't use the free rewrite ISAPI dll, cause I'm working on a 64 Bit Server.

I installed silverstripe
-> PHP works well, no error
-> MySql works well, the database is full and looks perfekt
-> The write permissions on IIS are set and yout Installingroutine was writing the .htaccess

-> Starting Silverstripe result in error, cause the rewrite isn't working.

Best Greetings
Jan

Hi cichyjan.

i'm not sure whether silverstripe can run on iss at all.
Didn't hear something according to this topic till now.

Would be great to hear that.
I'm wondering, would debugging the webpage (in php) be possible in this scenario???

[out of topic]
i did some iis websites using
* dotnetnuke
* castle-framework -> monorail
http://www.castleproject.org/monorail/index.html
* and also using direct nhibernate + an additional ajax framework.
and other frameworks (ror, grails)

developing solutions on iis is great becouse iis ability of the debugging pages.
but iis lacks the ability of having a cms. (-> dnn) and is 'harder to get' on a hoster.
but if i want to make pages in 'open web' i prefer an environment which is 'easyer to have' on a hoster.
here silverstripe is a very very very good alternative :-)

having a debugging development environment too, would make things perfect...
i've read some notes about PhpDesigner 2008 which claims to have an easy debugging environment on php.
can anyone confirm this?

Hello Zyko,

debugging on IIS is easy -> I Use Eclipse, I use Eclipse also for Java/Tomcat works very well!
The Installation of silverstripe I haven't debugged, I was just looking in the php error Logfile --> No Error, only the message, that the page wasn't found, that's logic, cause rewrite isn't working on IIS.

Other CMS Software is working well like Joomla or xt-commerce, so I wonder, why silverstripe has no Solution to turn off rewrite! Perhaps it's simple to switch of the rewrite!?

Greetings
Jan

Hello,

I have the Solution:
http://www.micronovae.com/ModRewrite/articles/SEOSolutions.html

It's working in 64 Bit or 32 Bit, it is nearly compatible with Apache mod_rewrite and sould be better as teh ISAPI-Modules...........

So I can now use silverstripe :-)

Hi cichyjan,

Can you confirm that you managed to get SilverStripe working on IIS?

Note: I've updated http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=iis-installation with a link to the rewrite plugin that you used. It would be good if you could update that page with the steps that you needed to take to get it all going.

Just a note - we don't have a copy of Windows 2003 and IIS 6 to test SilverStripe, however we do know that SilverStripe works on Windows 2008 / IIS 7, which is the current versions of these Microsoft technologies.

See http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=iis-installation
