Hello there,

so I just recently installed SS but I'm having one weird problem... I can't content manage! When I try to save it simply keeps saying saving (same with publishing). I do not have php safe mode on and register globals is off. If anyone has any ideas why this might be happening, please leave a detailed response.

Thanks

If this is of any help...

when I do edit part of a page and leave that page, I do not get warned that I have not saved yet as I did in the demo I tried. Is there something wrong with my save function completely? (fresh install so curious as to how that could happen)

Do you have two version of PHP on your server perhaps? Like, having both PHP 4 and PHP 5 installed? If you're running SS 2.2.2, that line is fairly standard, and makes me wonder if it's a php 4/5 compatibility issue...

actually yeah I do! I have both php4 and php5 however php5 is set to run the .php extension and thus php4 will only run with the .php4 extension

So is your problem just in the CMS, and only when you try and save a page? In other words, you can build the database (http://www.my-site.com/db/build?flush=1) and visit the homepage (http://www.my-site.com/) and it all works fine?

Yes, that is correct; the db builds just fine and the website works as well ; There were a few changes that managed to sneak by as you'll notice but those were just the lucky ones. It's really just the CMS being buggy.

Hey Matt (and company),

I decided to install the server again to see what would happen (knowing full well what would happen, just wanted to make sure nothing was missed)

here's some more information on the installation page which shows the mod_rewrite not working but when directed to the test page it passes and continues on.

An error I noticed after installing SS locally was that after installing, the email and password are not being displayed.

Hopefully some of this information helps,

cheers,

-Simon
