I´m experiencing also this white page problem in login. I have somekind hunch that this problem might be linked to php version. The problem first occured in server that has php version 5.1.2. I then copyed database and rest of files to another server that had php 5.2.5 and login problem dissappeared.

Now I´m waiting for server admin to upgrade from 5.1.2 to 5.2.5 and then I´m able to confirm if problem truely was in php version.

I also have noticed that sometimes clearing cookie and session cache might work.
