I've been investigating the pros and cons of using SilverStripe for a decently-sized site and I'm practically sold except for one tiny thing:

The HTML source editor removes newlines and/or formatting from any posts created with the WYSIWYG editor. I've searched for solutions everywhere.

I tried changing some of the TinyMCE settings (which included a very promising--but ultimately a dead end-- configuration option: apply_source_formatting.)

Am I just not seeing an easy fix to this issue? The web developers I work with would definitely prefer editing HTML tables, etc. in the source code editor. Without source code formatting or even newlines, this becomes nearly impossible!

Thanks.

There is a ticket to update tiny_mce to version 3. Also to add source formatting using the codepress plugin - see http://open.silverstripe.com/ticket/2134. V3 of tinymce is much cleaner and you will be able to configure it alot better.

This is targeted towards the 2.3 release so that will be out in a couple months at least Im guessing..
