help header and footer

Hi ,
Please can any one tell me how to edit the header
I have editedthemes -->silverstripe-v2.2.2\themes\maori\templates\Includes\footer.ss
and also -->silverstripe-v2.2.2\themes\maori\templates\page.ss (for header)but my header and footer didn't change .
I have used maori theme .

Did you flush?
-> append ?flush=1 to the page-url in question
Or did you switch themes?
Then you should open up mysite/_config.php and change theme being used in there:
SSViewer::set_theme('maori');

You could try deleting the header and footer includes from the template, save it, replace the includes by undoing and then re-save - works for me!
