Hi ,
Please can any one tell me how to open and edit an external php project in silverstripe -

How do you mean edit a external project in silverstripe? If you want to include external PHP files you could try just the normal PHP include statement to include the files. by adding something like <? include('yourfile.php'); ?> in sapphire/main.php. Dont know how you want to 'edit' it
