I am a total novice with this type of software, but hope to make a simple personal Website
I have "borrowed" a theme, and have substituted the header image for a jpg of my own, using the exact same dimensions of size and pixels, and the same file name as in the header image jpg in the theme's image folder.
Unfortunately flushing the cache still leaves me with the original header image.
There must be more to it!!
I would be most grateful for any advice on this subject.

Most likely you'll need to replace the image.

Also, your browser may be caching the image. Try emptying your browser's cache.

Simon_w Thank you for your advice. Deleting the Firefox browser cache, immediately replaced the original header jpg perfectly with mine.

That advice is well worth remembering and using again as required.
