when is 2.3 likely to be out ?

Hi
I find 2.2 a bit slow on my shared hosting account when Joomla, Drupal and Expression Engine are quite fast... I hear that 2.3 should improve speed... any indication when it would be out ?
Days, weeks, months ?
I need to commit fairly quickly.Thanks

Ingo has started the big task of merging back all the changes for 2.3 now. I think you can expect to see a beta for 2.3 quite late in the year with the goal to probably have 2.3 out before we leave the office for the summer holidays / christmas break! so it will be a nice christmas present to the community!.
I think a bug fix release of 2.2 - 2.2.3 will be released in 1 or 2 months as the final release for the 2.2 branch. Well thats what I hear anyways!

Yes well it should be faster. Part of 2.3 (?) is the JS rewrite from prototype to jquery and hopefully doing this should make the cms admin interface a bit lighter.
