usually this comes up if you take too long to post a reply or start a thread. The post form creates a new post object and to stop lots of empty unused posts lying round the database the garage collection deletes 'empty' ones after a certain amount of time (default is 20mins I think).
What I normally do if that happens is just hit the back button (your content should be there), copy your content and refresh the page. This will restart the session
