Hi all. I a newbie to Silverstripe so please forgive this very dumb question. I have installed SS according to instructions on my c: drive and developed a site on localhost. How do I now get this site live on my domain? What is the process? I feel as though I am missing something very basic here so apologies. Do I need to actually need to install SS on my domain's server and develop there?

hope somone can help

Hi,
Yes you will need to install SS on your webserver and then look at uploading first the files and then the database to your webserver.

Check out this post for some more info

One of the key things to ensure is that you install the same version (preferably using the same tar file) on the webserver and that you run through the installation on the webserver (as you did for the local install) to produce a clean install and ensure that has completed successfully.

You don't have to do a fresh install of SS when going on a live site.
All you need to do is move all of the files from your local to live httpdocs (including the invisible .htaccess file) , transfer the database and then run a db/build?flush=1
