Hi!
I'm trying to do the same thing as boogieg. I've also followed the steps from http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=widgets
When I try to add a widget to a normal Page Type I also get the error: "Bad widget class name given"
Also widgets on the Blog stop working. I can't drag & drop the active widgets in the cms to change their order and they don't show up in the frontend anymore.Are there any new approaches? Widgets on normal page types would be very helpful.
