Widget or Dataobject on every page

I want to add several little boxes with informations to my website. Is it better to create an DataObject ? Or is a widget the better idear?
This boxes will shown on every pages and I load this DataObject within the Page-Class with DataObject::get. Is this the correct way to go?
For administration I think a DataObject would be easier to manage?
