I've uploaded on the files onto my linux server - up to www.mydomain.com/update

I'm getting this error message below when I try to surf to http://www.mydomain.com/update/install.php

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/andersonmechanical.net/httpdocs/update/install.php on line 518

Please help - any ideas??
