Blank window (no output) after migration

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me - I just moved my site from a local machine to a web host.
I copied the database across, and that all looks OK in phpmyadmin.
I copied the file structure across, and confirmed the _config.php etc.
Now when I visit the site's URL I just get a blank window - ie no output at all.
If I add /db/build?flush=1 to the URL, I get redirected to /Security/login, but again just a blank screen.
I'm kinda stuck, with no output to work with. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Manually put your site in Dev mode (through the config file is most reliable) , then try to rebuild your datamodel... If all is good , you'll be able to see some error messages.
