2.3.0 rc1 post install issues

Installed 2.3.0 rc1 in a subdir
All appeared to go well, but now i have the following issuehttp://localhost/subdir - gives directory contents listing
http://localhost/subdir/ - redirects to install.php
http://localhost/subdir/home/ - redirects to install.php
http://localhost/subdir/contact-us - works fineIf i login to the cms, and open the home page, and then select view published site it takes me to
http://localhost/subdir/?stage=Live
which displays fineI haven't added any additional modules.
site is running on ubuntu 8.04
Apache/2.2.8 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.2.4-2ubuntu5.3 with Suhosin-Patch Serverany ideas/suggestions ??

Try clearing the cache in your browser (or use another browser).

Tried that
and accessing from a different machine all togetherand get the same result!

Whats the content of your .htaccess file in the webroot? Can you try resetting it to the file that comes with the default installer and try installing again?
