File locations for a new site Link to this post

Ok I've just spent last few days working through developer tutorials and familiarising myself with that content. Firstly A+ guys! The structure of this CMS just seems so breathtakingly obvious compared with many other CMS applications I've worked with. I like to be very organised in terms of where everything is located... and Silverstripe makes perfect sense

That said! I'm just about to start a new site from scratch.. and I read that content of the /mysite folder is obsolete and can be removed right? also i guess now i'm done with the tutorial so can the /tutorial folder?

So I'm assuming I create a new theme folder under /themes?

The tutorial used a /code subfolder and and /javascript subfolder. Do I also create these under the new subfolder I create under /themes (along with the css/image/templates)?

    Thanks

This is a bit murky and hopefully we will get round to updating the themes page but what we recommend is create a new theme folder with 'css', 'images', 'templates', 'javascript'. And keep all your code in mysite/code/ and your config file should be mysite/_config.php.

The dual locations is a bit odd at first but there has been some discussion for 2.4 reorganizing the structure.
