I wonder if your problem is caused by: Ticket #1370 Behaviour is not applied with ajax in IE. I'm going to take a stab at fixing it today. Hopefully I'll be able to. ;) -

Unfortunately no, IE6/IE7 display menu (add folder,upload) as block despite the fact that I set it as inline
