ShareThis Module - Brings Social Bookmarking to SilverStripe Link to this post

I would like to announce the new module, ShareThis is now available in the SilverStripe SVN repo.

This module will allow you to add Sharing and Bookmarking icons such as Digg, Del.icio.us, Reddit and etc to your pages.

Checkout the new module and have your comments.

This seems like it would be a good thing to work in conjunction with the blog module. Lakshan - are you familiar with the new widget API that has been developed as part of this?

Perhaps there could be a sharethis widget for the SS blog? Andrew / Brian - what do you think?

Initial idea of mine was the same. Have this as an add-on for the blog module but since I haven't seen any code of the blog module I thought of creating this module as a general one.

Yes we could wrap this as an widget, but the thing is widgets do appear in a sidebar or specified area along with the other widgets. The common pattern for having social bookmarks is just below the post. Anyway I guess it's better to allow the template designer to place this at any place they wish.
