Sorry for bombarding the forum again. ;)

I'm starting to get some feedback from clients on using Silverstripe. Some unrelated things which I heard more than once. You probably heard 'em all already , but anyway, maybe they're of interest to you.

- How to resize an Image in TinyMCE without screwing up the aspect ratio

- Status messages in the top-right part of the screen ("saved as draft" etc.) are confusing, especially with the "broken-links" error. SS doesn't always clean the messages up correctly.

- The "publish-all" link is hard for people to remember, so they end up clicking their *sses off ;-)

- Embedding flash is nearly impossible for an "average" user ;-)

Good feedback; all of this is worth us looking into.

The apsect ratio is supposed to be preserved when you resize, so its peculiar its not for you?

Status messages and a 'publish all' feature are improved in the Google Summer of Code work done by Elijah and will be released shortly.

There is an 'insert flash' icon in the editor; could you please articulate the concerns and improvements you feel are appropriate?

Thanks for your fast reply.

You are absolutely right on the aspect-ratio of images. Turns out the customer started fiddling with the numbers instead of dragging the thing around , sorry for not checking myself.

The insert-flash function doesn't seem to work on my installations. I'm using the latest stable (2.02b) and it's possible to select a folder, but the flash-file selector box doesn't get an update. Just searched around a bit and it seems there's already a patch floating around for this bug.

Hope to go live next week, will keep you posted.

Sweet... we'll try our best to ensure the flash inserter works for 2.1 which we're targetting for Sept. Lots of exciting features in that :)

Hope you voted for us in the CMS awards so that you can help fund our activity to improve SilverStripe :P

Fuzz10,

About the image aspect ratio. I have a client who needs his images to be limited to a specific height or a specific width. If he fills in one field or the other but not both, it preserves the aspect ratio. This may be helpful if your client insists on using specific pixel sizes.
