Hello.

I love Silverstripe! But of course, not everything goes to plan.

I downloaded the gallery module. Uploaded it to the server, and put the directory 'gallery' into the main file area. In my case that is public_html along with all the other directories, like tutorial, themes, cms, saphire and so on.

I did a db/build/
I flushed the cache with ?flush=1

I can create a gallery page from within the cms. I can upload pictures using the file/images module thingy.

When I publish the site, to look at my new gallery page, there is no pictures.

I have tried putting hte images into different directories, and letting the gallery page know which one to look in. But it never shows me any of the uploaded images.

Any ideas?

I'm also experiencing a similar problem.

More interestingly, if I attempt to upload a default image in the Gallery tab I get a server error.

The website server has not been able to respond to your request.

Perhaps it's related to my configuration? Are there any particular applications/programs I need installed?

One thing you might one to check is whether the "Images" extension is selected on the "Extensions" tab of a gallery page. I ran into the same thing you're experiencing, and doing this actually showed the images. It makes sense, I just didn't think to do it initially.

The default image is also working incorrectly for me.

You're right, that works. I skimmed over the instructions too fast I suppose.

I added a "Trouble-shooting and common mistakes" section to the module article, highlighting this problem :P

Thanks for your help.

The instructions did not include the information that that page does. Which was a problem. I was under the impression that once the gallery directory was uploaded and the db/build/ was done that would be it. I did not know I'd have to go and enter in <% include GalleryPageContent %> in another file.

Problem solved.

Actually, we have prefered to put the Gallery content as an include file because people want to put their gallery in different place in their template (before or after the text content for instance)

Frenchy; can we make it so that the "Images" extensions is selected on the "Extensions" tab of a gallery page by default?

:)
