Blog not working correctly - SOLVED

Have just built my first website. It seemed to be working fine with lots of pages and sub pages all looking good but on the Blog page you can not post a new blog only comment on the original congratulations blog entry. Can some one help this very old aged newbie please?
Worked this one out myself. Realise now that a blog is not like a forum!! Found blog manager, removed the congratulations post, posted a new entry via blog manager and got my grandson to post a comment. Working fine now.
